Overnight Care
This is a chance for you to get some much-needed rest. It’s important for your healing body to maximize rest when you can. Our brains do best with at least a four-hour consecutive stretch of sleep, which can feel like an impossible task with a newborn that is eating every three hours. A feeding session can often stretch to an hour with the addition of changing, feeding, burping and getting baby back to sleep. This offering allows you to get a full night’s rest while I care for baby. Whether you’re feeding from your body, with formula, or pumped milk- I’ll take over all of it while you’re tucked in to rest.
Whether you’re a first time parent, or have another little one (or more!) already at home, you deserve the chance to restore. Adequate rest can support your physical recovery as well as the transition into parenting by supporting an adequate milk supply and soothed nervous system. I’ll join you at home before bed and establish a plan for the evening based on your family’s needs. You’ll get to sleep and I’ll tend to baby through the night. I find the optimal timeframe is 9-6 or 10-7 to allow for you to rest and ease into the next day. I’ll leave you with coffee and breakfast in the morning.
